Sergiy

“My name is Sergiy Vasilyovych Zhariy, born in 1987. Homeless.

Parents dies early and I grew up in the orphanage located in Berezne, Chernihiv region.

Now I have no legs. That day I decided to fill myself with happiness. Visited some friends and drank with them. Then came to another place and drank there.

Woke up on the street in the morning and realized that my feet are like two logs.

I began to cry for help and people dialed the emergency. They took me to the hospital and on Jan. 15th both my legs were amputated.

I have two sisters, but I do not know where they are now. While I was in the orphanage, they served their term in the prison.

I think now they are released, but do not know where to find them.

I want to provide for myself. Would like to be a builder, but now without legs it is not realistic.

I do not want to sit on the street and beg…”

Currently Sergiy is in House of Mercy in Kiev, Lisovy district. Ha has the passport now and document that he is an invlaid.

We arranged for him appointment at the factory which makes prosthesys.

Later this year the vocational training center in Lutezhe agreed to take him to teach new job skills.

Those who have time and motivation can take part in Sergiy’s life – take him to different state offices to receive necessary documents for him.

Currently we have 14 people in our shelters and three staff workers. One of the workers is on vacation and we are physically unable to do all necessary work.
