Tetiana Hryhorovna Makarenko, born in 1951
Until 1969 she lived with her mother, but then her mother died of severe disease in her arms. Then she went to work in Georgia to pick tangerines, and after that she stayed there. She found a job as a milkmaid and got married.
Her husband turned out to be an alcoholic and a sadist, he was beating her and setting their little child at naught.
One day she suddenly ran away with the baby. She went to another city, where she got a job. She lived there raising her child. Then the husband found her, took away the child and left for some unknown destination.
She started drinking out of despair.
Then she knew that her husband fell ill with tuberculosis and died, and the son was sent to care home.
Due to the fact that by that time she was already drinking heavily, they did not return the child to her. Moreover, she was deprived of parental rights.
Over time, she quit drinking, moved to a small town in Dnipropetrovsk region, got a job.
All her life she has lived with a man until he died. Since they were not officially married, she could not claim for his accommodation. So, in her 60s, she appeared on the street.
She collected cardboard, bottles, and thus survived. Once she fell awkwardly, broke her shoulder and got to the hospital. There, the kind people found her son, whom she hadn’t seen for 30 years, in Facebook!!!
It turned out that her son was looking for her all this time!
Now Tetiana is in the House of Mercy, hoping that she will be helped to somehow get settled in life.
