It so happened that out of his 65 years he spent 40 years behind bars.
Last time he got out some years ago, he decided that there was no chance to start a normal life since his parents had passed away, their house had been destroyed, and getting a job at 60 with no previous experience was unrealistic.
Thus, he became homeless.
Last time in Zaporizhia, as he was sleeping on a bench, as he says, he got woken up by some mad laughter. As he opened his eyes, all he could see and hear was the light from somebody’s phone and a voice: “Make a nice video!”
He got beaten up so badly by the teenagers that he can barely walk till now.
This is the only way he can sit, with legs bent behind him, otherwise the pain is unbearable.
He says he dreams about living in a house of his own in a village but understands that this is just a pipe dream.
